Right Brain Drawing - 10 Tuesdays 10am-Noon

Exploring Watercolor - 9 Thursdays 10am-Noon OR 3 Saturdays 10am-4:00pm

Family Art Education - 9 Tuesdays 1:30-3:00pm OR Tuesdays 4:30-6:00pm

Create Your Own Workshop

Gather a group of 4-8 friends and I'll design a workshop at a time and on a topic you choose. Make specialty cards, create a collage, learn pen and ink or learn professional jewelry techniques. Great for a girls' day out!

Three hours

$50 per person (includes supplies)

Artful Birthday Parties

Enjoy an Artful Birthday Party (no matter what your age) at Shabala Studio! Choose your theme and have a special art project designed and presented just for your group. You provide the food and decorations, we start with a 1¼ hour art project and then enjoy 45 minutes for the party celebration.

$100/up to 8 participants

Family Art Education

Ages 6* and up

Tuesdays 1:30-3:00pm
Tuesdays 4:30-6:00pm

In this multi-age class of eight or fewer students, students will learn to design projects of their choice after direct instruction on foundational techniques, Elements of Art, Principles of Design, and Color Theory.

$170 (supplies included)

Additional family members in the same session pay half-tuition
Continuing students save another $10 - Register for next session before the current session ends

*Approx. Age: We're all unique! Some 6-year-olds aren't ready to focus, some 5-year-olds are. Some 9-year-olds will love the "older" classes.

Family Class

Tuesday 4:30-6:00pm

Come explore a variety of developmentally appropriate approaches to writing and reflecting about your relationship with Nature. Then you'll learn how to "illuminate" your journal pages with drawing, watercolor, pen & ink, and calligraphy (all supplies included). We may work indoors or outdoors, depending on weather.

Adult Class

Thursday 10:00-Noon

The same format as the family class, with more reflection, deeper discussion, and optional guided visualization. Adults supply their own journal or purchase a Shabala Studio journal ($20 + tax).

Exploring Watercolor: 3-Saturday Series

Adults/Teens

Thursday 10:00-Noon
3 Saturdays 10-4:00pm

Through lecture/demonstration, exercises, and explorations, beginners learn the foundational techniques of watercolor, including color theory and special effects. Continuing students deepen their understandings and build more skills with guidance from the teacher and support and fun of the group.

Right Brain Drawing

Betty Edwards' time-proven method for transforming the way we look at things so that we can draw what we see. A very focused, structured approach to drawing realistically. Drawing is simply a skill that anyone can acquire with the right instruction and ample practice.

Illuminated Nature Journal

Adults/Teens

3 Saturdays 10-4:00pm

We spend the morning in the studio exploring a variety of approaches for writing and reflecting about our relationship with Nature. Then we learn how to "illuminate" our journal pages with drawing, watercolor, pen & ink, and calligraphy (all supplies included). In the afternoon we continue our journal process on site at the beach, in the woods, or in the garden. (supplies for working on site are not provided). We close the day by gathering to share what Nature has taught us.
